About the founder
Dr. Alshimaa El Bahrawy is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Deaf Gain, an AI-powered EdTech and accessibility startup focused on transforming education, employment, and digital accessibility for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities. She holds a Ph.D. in Disability Sciences and Rehabilitation and has over 10 years of experience in inclusive education, accessibility, project management, and operations. Throughout her career, she has designed and implemented inclusive education programs, developed accessibility initiatives, and led multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful solutions for persons with disabilities. At Deaf Gain, Dr. El Bahrawy oversees daily operations, program implementation, product development coordination, quality assurance, and cross-functional execution. She plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, scaling organizational capacity, and delivering innovative AI-powered accessibility solutions that meet the needs of partners and beneficiaries across the MENA region.
