About the founder
I’m Mostafa Shata, a mechanical engineer turned Operational Excellence practitioner and the founder of BDS.
For 17+ years I’ve worked on factory floors across Egypt and Saudi Arabia: first as a process improvement engineer at Zamil Steel and ALGIHAZ Holding, then leading Lean, TPM, 5S and Kaizen transformations for companies such as Hitachi Energy, Air Liquide, Saint-Gobain and Bosch. I hold Lean and Six Sigma Black Belts and an MBA in Engineering Management.
What drives me is making operational excellence practical: things people can see, touch and measure on the shop floor. That’s why I built BDS to combine consulting, physical OpEx products and implementation under one roof. Today I’m focused on the next step: digitalizing these practices for MENA manufacturers.
I’m here to connect with founders, investors and mentors working in industrial tech, manufacturing and B2B SaaS. Happy to share what I’ve learned about selling to and working with factories.
