About the program
Applications are now open for the Responsible AI Cup 2.0.
The Responsible AI (RAI) Cup is MENA's first incentive based competition designed specifically for SMEs that build or use AI systems.
The competition encourages SMEs to integrate Responsible AI principles into their products, services, and operations while promoting innovation that is ethical, transparent, fair, and accountable.
Through the RAI Cup, participants will have the opportunity to: • Adopt responsible AI principles in their AI systems and business models. • Gain recognition for responsible AI practices. • Build capacity through training, mentorship, and collaboration. • Contribute to knowledge production and research. • Connect with academia, industry, civil society, and policymakers.
Winners will receive monetary prizes in appreciation of their commitment to responsible AI! 1st place: 4000 USD 2nd place: 3000 USD 3rd place: 2000 USD 4th and 5th places: Honorary awards
The competition evaluates AI systems across eight Responsible AI themes: ✔ Privacy ✔ Accountability ✔ Safety & Security ✔ Transparency & Explainability ✔ Fairness & Non-discrimination ✔ Human Control of Technology ✔ Professional Responsibility ✔ Promotion of Human Values
The application process consists of two phases: 1️⃣ Expression of Interest (Open now! deadline September 10th 2026) 2️⃣ Self-Assessment (the primary evaluation stage)
