About the startup
EVRAID is an Egyptian deep-tech company building the core technology of electric mobility: Battery Management Systems (BMS), lithium-ion battery packs, and electric powertrain components. We design, engineer, and manufacture them in-house, and we own the full hardware and software IP.
The problem: Egypt and the wider region depend almost entirely on imported batteries and BMS, most of them from China. Egypt’s lithium-ion battery imports grew more than sixfold between 2021 and 2025. Imported, closed systems bring long lead times, little room for customization, weak after-sales support, and no control over the battery’s safety and data security. These gaps hurt EV makers, fleet operators, and battery-swapping companies most.
Our solution: EVRAID offers a local BMS and battery-pack platform that OEMs and fleets can customize to their vehicles. Our smart BMS platforms are already in production for kick scooters, e-bikes, motorcycles, and three-wheelers. Our NMC, LFP, and high-capacity battery packs serve mobility, energy storage, and industrial applications. We offer CAN integration, secure data communication, and mobile-app monitoring, with shorter lead times and competitive pricing.
What’s next: A full e-powertrain kit is in prototyping, with start of production targeted for Q1 2027. It includes a Vehicle Control Unit, LV and HV inverters, and a DC-DC converter. We are also developing high-power contactor-based BMS (up to 300A), AI-enhanced battery lifetime, battery energy storage systems, and a battery-as-a-service model.
EVRAID is led by automotive veterans with experience at Bosch, Mercedes-Benz, Valeo, and Shift EV. Our team includes more than 20 full-time engineers, and we run our own factory and testing facility in Giza. Our R&D is backed by government funding from ASRT. We operate from Egypt and Dubai, and an entity in India is being set up.
Our vision is to become the leading regional Tier-1 supplier of EV core technology across MENA, Africa, and South Asia, delivering electrification that is secure, customizable, and made close to the markets it serves.
